Mallorca Golf Charter: Four Rounds From a Yacht in One Week (2027)
Eight days round Mallorca on a crewed yacht with a round at Son Gual, Vall d'Or, Alcanada and Son Muntaner. The yacht moves while you play.
Four rounds of golf on four different courses, seven nights at anchor, one week round Mallorca on a crewed yacht. That's the whole idea.
The trick is the logistics. On golf days the yacht moves on while you play: the crew takes her round to the next bay. A van brings you there after lunch. Your clubs stay in the van all week. You see the whole island without spending half a day at sea to reach the next tee.
Below is the full route, day by day, with the courses, drive times, green fees and what the week costs. Everything is also in our free PDF brochure, with a route map for every day, photos of each course and a cost breakdown based on a real yacht. You can download it further down this page.
How a golf charter works
A golf charter is an ordinary crewed yacht charter planned around tee times. You book the yacht for the week. We build the route so the golf days land where the courses are, with a good anchorage close by.
A golf day looks like this:
07:30: Breakfast on board, at anchor.
08:30: The tender takes you ashore. The van is waiting with your clubs already in the back.
09:30: Tee off. Allow four and a half hours for the round.
14:00: Lunch at the clubhouse.
15:30: The van drops you where the yacht now waits. A swim, then a short cruise to the night's anchorage.
We plan every golf charter to the same standard:
Day one stays short. You board at 12:00, have lunch underway, you're at anchor by mid-afternoon.
With guests on board, no more than about three hours at sea in a day. The longer legs are done by the crew while you play.
The anchorage comes first. We pick the bay for the evening, then the course, keeping the drive under an hour.
One van with one driver for the whole week. Clubs never come on board.
Non-golfers stay on the yacht for the ride to the next bay, or join everyone for lunch at the club.

Eight days, once round the island counter-clockwise, about 200 nautical miles. About 120 of those are with you on board; the crew covers the other 80 while you're on the course. The four rounds are at Son Gual, Vall d'Or, Alcanada and Son Muntaner.
The PDF has this map in print quality, plus a smaller map under every day showing that day's sea legs with the van route.
Day 1: Palma to Es Trenc
You board in Palma at 12:00. Your luggage goes to the cabins, your golf bags go to the van. By one o'clock you're underway.
Lunch is served on deck as the yacht crosses the Bay of Palma, then follows the coast south past Cap Blanc. By mid-afternoon you're at anchor off Es Trenc, a long undeveloped beach with clear, shallow water. Time for the water toys. Dinner on board.
Passage: about 2.5 hours, 23 nm. Night: at anchor off Es Trenc.
Day 2: Son Gual, then Cabrera
After breakfast the tender drops you at Sa Ràpita, where the van is waiting. Son Gual is 41 minutes inland: a parkland course by Thomas Himmel, opened in 2007, with more than 1,000 olive trees along the fairways.
While you play, the yacht moves round to Colònia de Sant Jordi. After lunch the van brings you back to the coast in 48 minutes. Then a short crossing, a little over an hour, to the Cabrera archipelago. The night is spent inside the national park.
Golf: Son Gual, van 41 + 48 minutes. Passage: about 1.25 hours, 11 nm. Night: Cabrera National Park.
Day 3: Cabrera, then Cala Mondragó
No golf today. Cabrera is a protected archipelago off the south coast, with a small harbour below its castle. Spend the morning in the water: snorkel in the park, take the tender into the Sa Cova Blava sea cave, or walk up to the castle for the view.
After lunch the yacht crosses back to Mallorca to anchor in Cala Mondragó, a pine-fringed bay inside a natural park. Entry to Cabrera is by permit; the captain arranges it before the charter.
Passage: about 2 hours, 19 nm. Night: Cala Mondragó.
Day 4: Vall d'Or, then Cala Agulla
Ashore after breakfast. Vall d'Or is 29 minutes away by road, on the hills near Porto Colom. The front nine winds through pine, almond and olive trees; the back nine opens up with views down to the sea.
While you play, the crew takes the yacht about 22 nm up the east coast to Canyamel. The van brings you there in 42 minutes. A short run round the headland takes you to Cala Agulla for the night.
Golf: Vall d'Or, van 29 + 42 minutes. Passage: about 30 minutes, 5 nm. Night: Cala Agulla.
Day 5: Round the northeast cape to Alcanada
A full day on the water. A swim before breakfast, then north past Cala Mesquida to round Cap Farrutx.
Lunch is at anchor off Coll Baix, a small beach below the cliffs that few people reach on foot. In the evening the yacht anchors off the Alcanada lighthouse islet, a short tender ride from the next morning's first tee.
Passage: about 2 hours, 19 nm. Night: off Alcanada.
Day 6: Alcanada, then round Formentor
The round of the week. Robert Trent Jones Jr. laid out Alcanada on the shore of the Bay of Alcúdia; it opened in 2003. The lighthouse islet you slept next to stays in view from much of the course.
While you play, the yacht moves to Port de Pollença, 23 minutes away by van. The afternoon is the longest cruise of the week, about three hours: round Cap de Formentor, then west along the cliffs of the Serra de Tramuntana to Sa Calobra, where the Torrent de Pareis gorge meets the sea.
Golf: Alcanada, van 23 minutes. Passage: about 3 hours, 30 nm. Night: Sa Calobra.
Day 7: Son Muntaner, then Portals Vells
Breakfast on the way to Port de Sóller, about 45 minutes along the coast. The van takes you over the hills to Son Muntaner in 36 minutes. Arabella's course above Palma was designed by Kurt Rossknecht; it hosted the Mallorca Golf Open in 2022.
While you play, the crew takes the yacht the long way round, past Dragonera to Portals Vells, about 40 nm. The van brings you there in 24 minutes. A last afternoon in the water at the Malgrats and El Toro marine reserves, then dinner at anchor.
Golf: Son Muntaner, van 36 + 24 minutes. Passage: about 45 minutes, 8 nm. Night: Portals Vells.
Day 8: Back to Palma
A last swim off Portals Vells, breakfast on deck, then the short run back into Palma. You're off the yacht by 12:00, with time for lunch in the old town before the flight home.
Passage: about 45 minutes, 7 nm.
The route assumes settled weather. Sa Calobra is open to the north: with a northerly forecast, the captain spends that night in Port de Sóller instead. The full plan, including the weather alternatives, is in the PDF.
The four golf courses
We picked these four for how they play, how they spread round the island, how close they sit to a good anchorage. Green fees below are per player for 18 holes, from each club's published spring and autumn rates.
Son Gual, east of Palma. Par 72, 6,621 m, Thomas Himmel, 2007. €185 in spring and autumn, buggy €50. Maximum handicap 28 for men, 36 for ladies.
Vall d'Or, near Porto Colom. Par 71, 5,539 m. €132 in spring and autumn, buggy €50. Maximum handicap 36.
Alcanada, Bay of Alcúdia. 6,571 m, Robert Trent Jones Jr., 2003. Among Spain's ten best on Leading Courses in 2026. €230 in spring and autumn, buggy €48. Maximum handicap 33 for men, 35 for ladies.
Son Muntaner, Son Vida above Palma. Par 72, Kurt Rossknecht, 2000. €110 to €260 depending on date and tee time, with a shared buggy included from March to November. Maximum handicap 36.

Crewed yachts for every kind of week on the water, from catamarans and sailing yachts to full-size superyachts.
All four ask for a handicap certificate at check-in. If a course is full on your date, Maioris (for day 2) or Son Vida (for day 7) are the alternates.
What a Mallorca golf charter costs
The yacht is the biggest line. A crewed yacht in Mallorca starts from about €20,000 a week, rising with size and season. On top of the charter fee come:
VAT at 21% on the charter fee, as the charter starts in Spain.
APA, an advance of about 25 to 35% of the charter fee for fuel, food, drinks, marinas. Whatever isn't spent comes back to you. Our APA guide explains how it works.
Green fees: about €750 per golfer for the four rounds in spring or autumn.
Buggies: about €50 per buggy per round where they aren't included.
Van with driver: a Sprinter, so eight golfers fit with their bags, from about €660 for an 8-hour day. About €2,650 for the four golf days.
The PDF works the full week through with a real 24-metre Sunreef catamaran as the example: charter fee, VAT, APA, golf, van, gratuity, line by line.
When to go
Spring and autumn are golf season in Mallorca: mid-March to early June, then mid-September to October. Tee times book up in those months, so they're reserved as soon as your dates are set.
From late May the sea is warm enough for most people to swim, which makes late May, June, September and early October the sweet spot for a week that is half golf, half water. Summer works too, with early tee times at lower green fees.
Which yacht for a golf charter?
Any crewed yacht works for this route. The legs are short, the anchorages are well known, the yacht only has to cover about 200 nm in a week.
A catamaran suits it particularly well. Two hulls keep her steady at anchor, which matters on a week where every night is spent at anchor. There's deck space to spread out after a round. A motor yacht does the longer repositioning legs faster; a sailing yacht makes the Formentor afternoon a proper sail. Our guide to choosing between a catamaran, motor yacht or sailing yacht goes through the trade-offs.
The PDF uses AHAVA, a 2025 Sunreef catamaran for eight guests, as the example yacht, with three alternatives in different sizes.
Common Questions
What is a golf yacht charter?
A crewed yacht charter planned around tee times. You live on the yacht for the week. We plan the route so the golf days land near the courses. On golf days the tender takes you ashore, where a van drives you to the course; while you play, the crew moves the yacht to the next bay.
Which golf courses can you play from a yacht in Mallorca?
Our 8-day route plays Son Gual near Palma, Vall d'Or near Porto Colom, Alcanada on the Bay of Alcúdia and Son Muntaner in Son Vida above Palma. Each one is under an hour by road from that night's anchorage. Maioris or Son Vida are the alternates if a course is full.
How do golf clubs get from the yacht to the course?
By van. One van with a driver picks up the golf bags in Palma on the first day, keeping them until the last round. The tender takes you ashore each golf morning, where the van is waiting with the clubs.
When is the best time for a golf charter in Mallorca?
Mid-March to early June, then mid-September to October, which is golf season on the island. From late May the sea is warm enough for most people to swim, so late May, June, September or early October suit a week that is half golf, half water.
How much does a golf yacht charter in Mallorca cost?
A crewed yacht starts from about €20,000 a week, plus 21% Spanish VAT on the charter fee, an APA of about 25 to 35% for running costs and a customary crew tip of 10 to 15%. Green fees for four rounds come to about €750 per golfer in spring or autumn; a van with driver costs about €2,650 for four golf days.
Can non-golfers come on a golf charter?
Yes. Non-golfers stay on board while the yacht moves to the next bay, with the water toys to themselves, or they join the golfers for lunch at the club.
Who books what
Frontier Yachting arranges the yacht charter. Tee times with the van are booked by the captain or a local golf concierge, then paid from the APA or settled with them directly. That keeps the week simple: one charter contract, with the golf handled on the island.
