YKNOT

YKNOT is a Y7 from Y Yachts, the German yard that builds carbon performance cruisers designed to be sailed shorthanded. Launched in 2020, she carries 297 square metres of sail on a rig with no backstays and a self-tacking jib, with every line led back to the helm. At 22 metres and 29 tonnes, the carbon sandwich construction keeps her light enough to move properly in anything above 8 knots of breeze.
Tripp Design drew the hull; Norm Architects did the interior. The result is a bright, minimal space with panoramic wrap-around glazing that floods the salon with natural light and clean white finishes throughout. Three en-suite cabins sleep six: a forward master with walk-around double bed and walk-in wardrobe, a midship VIP double, and an aft twin.
Captain Federico Femia, known as Skipper Fredy, has over eighteen years at the helm of sailing yachts and maxi yachts across the Mediterranean and Atlantic, and runs a crew of two that keeps the operation quiet and professional. Toys are a SeaBob, paddleboard, snorkel gear, and fishing equipment: a sailing yacht where the rig is the main attraction.
YKNOT spends summers based in Naples with the Amalfi Coast and Capri within easy reach, then crosses to Antigua for the Caribbean winter season under Malta flag. She cruises at 7 knots under twin Nanni 80-horsepower diesels, and sails as well as her carbon pedigree suggests.

Key details to help you prepare for your charter experience.
An APA (Advanced Provisioning Allowance) is a pre-paid amount given to the yacht to cover costs like food & drinks on board, fuel, and mooring fees. At the end of your charter, we'll provide you with an itemized breakdown of the expenses, and any unused funds will be refunded to you.
Your Captain will keep you updated if you're close to exceeding your budget. If necessary, they'll discuss how to proceed, which usually involves a simple bank transfer to replenish the allowance.
We recommend around 10-15% of the charter fee as gratuity for the crew. It's thoughtful to prepare a thank-you card or envelope to make the process easier.
We'll provide you with the Captain's contact details well ahead of your charter. We can also create a group chat with you and the Captain to go over any plans and preferences before you board.
We follow MYBA and CYBA contract standards, these internationally recognized agreements offer clarity and security throughout your charter experience.
If you're ever uncertain about what's included or have any questions, feel free to ask your broker at Frontier Yachting. We're here to ensure your charter experience is perfect.
