GALAPAGOS HORIZON is a 38-metre power catamaran built by Lyman Morse in 2018 and refitted in 2024, purpose-designed for the Galápagos Islands. Eight cabins, each with a private balcony, accommodate sixteen guests. Every stateroom has individual climate control, en-suite bathroom, and either a king bed or twin configuration.

The catamaran hull gives her stability in the open crossings between islands and a shallow 1.9-metre draft for the closer anchorages. Twin Scania 550hp diesels push her at 11 knots, and eleven crew, including a certified bilingual naturalist guide, run the boat and the itineraries.

Common spaces include a modern lounge and bar, an al fresco dining area, and a solarium with jacuzzi on the upper deck. Water access is by kayak (four doubles), paddleboard, and snorkel gear. No jet skis, no loud toys: Galápagos National Park regulations govern what goes in the water, and GALAPAGOS HORIZON is built to comply.

Four, five, or eight-day itineraries cover the archipelago's highlights: Isabela, Fernandina, Santa Cruz, Genovesa, and Española. Sea lions, marine iguanas, blue-footed boobies, and whale sharks depending on the season, all from a private vessel with a guide who knows where to look.

Key details to help you prepare for your charter experience.

An APA (Advanced Provisioning Allowance) is a pre-paid amount given to the yacht to cover costs like food & drinks on board, fuel, and mooring fees. At the end of your charter, we'll provide you with an itemized breakdown of the expenses, and any unused funds will be refunded to you.

Your Captain will keep you updated if you're close to exceeding your budget. If necessary, they'll discuss how to proceed, which usually involves a simple bank transfer to replenish the allowance.

We recommend around 10-15% of the charter fee as gratuity for the crew. It's thoughtful to prepare a thank-you card or envelope to make the process easier.

We'll provide you with the Captain's contact details well ahead of your charter. We can also create a group chat with you and the Captain to go over any plans and preferences before you board.

We follow MYBA and CYBA contract standards, these internationally recognized agreements offer clarity and security throughout your charter experience.

If you're ever uncertain about what's included or have any questions, feel free to ask your broker at Frontier Yachting. We're here to ensure your charter experience is perfect.
