IRIS

Summer: Balearic Islands
1 / 9

Palma in summer, the Balearics through the season. IRIS is a Lagoon 55, delivered new in 2025, available out of Palma de Mallorca with a skipper and hostess on board for crewed charters across Mallorca, Ibiza, Formentera, and Menorca.

She accommodates eight guests in four en-suite double cabins, with the layout that Lagoon designed for the 55: full-beam owner cabin one side, three further doubles and additional heads forward. Air conditioning runs throughout, with a generator and a watermaker on board for extended time at anchor.

The flybridge is the catamaran's defining space, with helm, sun pads, and outdoor speakers. Below it the cockpit opens onto the main salon through wide sliding doors, giving the interior the feel of a single connected space when the boat is at anchor. A barbecue and outdoor fridge handle alfresco dining on the aft deck.

Toys are kept to what families and friends-of-friends groups actually use: a one-person kayak, a paddleboard, a wakeboard, water skis, and snorkel gear. The boat is rigged with a full-batten mainsail and a furling genoa, with electric winches that make sail handling straightforward.

The Balearic season runs May through October and IRIS is set up for it. Short hops between islands, the calas of southern Mallorca and the bays of Formentera within a day's sail of Palma, and the longer crossing to Menorca when the wind cooperates.

Good to Know

Key details to help you prepare for your charter experience.

An APA (Advanced Provisioning Allowance) is a pre-paid amount given to the yacht to cover costs like food & drinks on board, fuel, and mooring fees. At the end of your charter, we'll provide you with an itemized breakdown of the expenses, and any unused funds will be refunded to you.

Your Captain will keep you updated if you're close to exceeding your budget. If necessary, they'll discuss how to proceed, which usually involves a simple bank transfer to replenish the allowance.

We recommend around 10-15% of the charter fee as gratuity for the crew. It's thoughtful to prepare a thank-you card or envelope to make the process easier.

We'll provide you with the Captain's contact details well ahead of your charter. We can also create a group chat with you and the Captain to go over any plans and preferences before you board.

We follow MYBA and CYBA contract standards, these internationally recognized agreements offer clarity and security throughout your charter experience.

If you're ever uncertain about what's included or have any questions, feel free to ask your broker at Frontier Yachting. We're here to ensure your charter experience is perfect.
