SHOOTING STAR

Summer: Saronic IslandsWinter: Saronic Islands
1 / 19

Cyclades, Ionian, Dodecanese, Sporades: SHOOTING STAR sails from Athens year-round, putting every Greek island chain within reach on a single charter. She is a 20-metre Gianetti Star 64 drawn by Garroni Design, built in Viareggio in 2008 and refitted in 2023 with new teak decks, new air conditioning, and refreshed interiors throughout.

Three en-suite cabins sleep six guests. The master fills the bow with a double bed and natural light from overhead hatches; two guest cabins aft carry twin beds that convert to doubles, so couples and families both work. The saloon is open-plan with elongated side windows that keep the Aegean in frame, and the shaded cockpit seats everyone for alfresco meals.

Captain Christos Filinis is a civil engineer turned RYA Yachtmaster with a competitive windsurfing background and deep knowledge of Greek waters. His cook-hostess runs multi-course menus built around seasonal Greek ingredients. A Highfield 340 tender with a Honda 20-horsepower outboard, two SUPs, wakeboard, water skis, tube, snorkelling gear, and fishing tackle cover the water.

She cruises at eight knots under twin Yanmar diesels and reaches 10 under engine, faster under sail. She is a Garroni-designed Italian sloop, well refitted, with the crew and the home port to cover Greece from the Saronic Gulf to the Cyclades and beyond.

Key details to help you prepare for your charter experience.

An APA (Advanced Provisioning Allowance) is a pre-paid amount given to the yacht to cover costs like food & drinks on board, fuel, and mooring fees. At the end of your charter, we'll provide you with an itemized breakdown of the expenses, and any unused funds will be refunded to you.

Your Captain will keep you updated if you're close to exceeding your budget. If necessary, they'll discuss how to proceed, which usually involves a simple bank transfer to replenish the allowance.

We recommend around 10-15% of the charter fee as gratuity for the crew. It's thoughtful to prepare a thank-you card or envelope to make the process easier.

We'll provide you with the Captain's contact details well ahead of your charter. We can also create a group chat with you and the Captain to go over any plans and preferences before you board.

We follow MYBA and CYBA contract standards, these internationally recognized agreements offer clarity and security throughout your charter experience.

If you're ever uncertain about what's included or have any questions, feel free to ask your broker at Frontier Yachting. We're here to ensure your charter experience is perfect.
