KOS 54.CAT

2019 Multihull of the Year in the 40-to-50 foot category went to the Bali 5.4, a Catana cruising catamaran from designer Xavier Faÿ, and KOS 54.CAT is one of those hulls. She was launched in 2019, refitted in 2025, and operates year-round from D-Marin Lefkas at the head of the Ionian.

The Bali 5.4 trades the trampoline for an integral foredeck, which gives the boat a second saloon: a forward cockpit with seating, a folding glass door into the main saloon, and 360-degree views through full-height glazing. Aft, the galley-saloon-cockpit runs as one continuous flush-decked space with a tilting bulkhead door, dining for twelve, and uninterrupted sight lines across the beam.

Twelve guests sleep across six double cabins, each en-suite. A skipper and hostess run the boat from two further crew cabins, handling sailing, service, and provisioning across the week without crossing into guest spaces. Above the saloon, the flybridge carries the helm, sun pads, and a second lounging deck for sundowners on quiet evenings and watch-keeping on longer crossings.

She cruises at nine knots under sail or engine, with electric winches, a generator, watermaker, air conditioning, and a full audio rig including outside speakers on deck. Two paddleboards and snorkel gear handle the swim stops, and a typical week loops Meganisi, Ithaca, and Kefalonia from the Lefkas base.
