The Costa Smeralda is LIGHT BLUE's home water, and she works it from a berth at Poltu Quatu that she keeps through both the summer and winter seasons. She is a Sunseeker Predator 82 from 2007, refitted in 2025, an open sportsyacht with exterior lines by Don Shead and a 35-knot top end.
At a 25-knot cruise she brings the Maddalena archipelago, the granite coves below Porto Cervo, and the southern beaches of Corsica all within an easy day's run of the berth. The open Predator layout keeps the helm, the salon, and the aft cockpit flowing into one another, so the boat feels like a single social space when she is underway.
Eight guests sleep across four cabins below deck. The full-beam master sits amidships, a VIP takes the bow, and two further twin cabins fill out the accommodation, one with bunk berths to port and a standard twin to starboard. A crew of three run the boat and look after guests from their own quarters, and a water maker keeps the tanks topped up on longer stretches away from the dock.
Out on the water there are a Seabob, a paddleboard, floating mats, snorkelling gear, and light fishing tackle for the reefs and drop-offs off the Sardinian coast. An Ultimate 3D tender runs guests ashore to the village quays and beach clubs of the Costa Smeralda.

Key details to help you prepare for your charter experience.
An APA (Advanced Provisioning Allowance) is a pre-paid amount given to the yacht to cover costs like food & drinks on board, fuel, and mooring fees. At the end of your charter, we'll provide you with an itemized breakdown of the expenses, and any unused funds will be refunded to you.
Your Captain will keep you updated if you're close to exceeding your budget. If necessary, they'll discuss how to proceed, which usually involves a simple bank transfer to replenish the allowance.
We recommend around 10-15% of the charter fee as gratuity for the crew. It's thoughtful to prepare a thank-you card or envelope to make the process easier.
We'll provide you with the Captain's contact details well ahead of your charter. We can also create a group chat with you and the Captain to go over any plans and preferences before you board.
We follow MYBA and CYBA contract standards, these internationally recognized agreements offer clarity and security throughout your charter experience.
If you're ever uncertain about what's included or have any questions, feel free to ask your broker at Frontier Yachting. We're here to ensure your charter experience is perfect.
