SILOLONA
SILOLONA was naar alle waarschijnlijkheid de eerste luxe phinisi ter wereld. Besteld door de Amerikaanse Patti Seery, die 35 jaar in Indonesië woonde en formeel werd opgenomen in de Dani-stam van Papua, werd ze in vier jaar met de hand gebouwd door de Konjo-scheepsbouwers van het dorp Ara in Zuid-Sulawesi: romp van ijzerhout, bovenbouw van teak, traditionele phinisi-constructie volgens German Lloyds-specificaties. Michael Kasten (Kasten Marine) tekende de scheepsbouwkundige architectuur. Ze liep in 2004 in Bali van stapel.
Tien gasten in vijf cabines met eigen badkamer. Drie king-size mastersuites met privé-loungeruimten, plus een tweepersoons met queensize bed en een twin. Het interieur bestaat uit Seery's persoonlijke collectie: Indonesische textiel, handgesneden balken, geweven matten en artefacten die ze gedurende tientallen jaren in de hele archipel verzamelde. Bemanning van 17, inclusief PADI-gecertificeerde duikinstructeurs.
De duikoperatie is serieus: een gelicentieerd PADI-centrum met 20 tanks, twee Schiffauer-compressoren en drie volwaardige tenders voor duiktransfers. Komodo vanuit Labuan Bajo in de zomer, Raja Ampat en de Specerijeneilanden vanuit Ambon in de winter. Verder aan boord: kajaks, SUP's, wakeboard, waterski's (volwassenen en kinderen), kneeboard, tube, snorkeluitrusting en visuitrusting.
Patti Seery overleed in 2020. Haar zoon Tresno, opgeleid als scheepsbouwkundig ingenieur in de VS, leidt nu Silolona Sojourns. Zusterschip Si Datu Bua (39m, 2012) vaart samen voor groepen tot 16 personen.
Het jacht dat de Indonesische phinisi-charterindustrie startte, nog altijd geleid door de familie die haar bestelde.

An APA (Advanced Provisioning Allowance) is a pre-paid amount given to the yacht to cover costs like food & drinks on board, fuel, and mooring fees. At the end of your charter, we'll provide you with an itemized breakdown of the expenses, and any unused funds will be refunded to you.
Your Captain will keep you updated if you're close to exceeding your budget. If necessary, they'll discuss how to proceed, which usually involves a simple bank transfer to replenish the allowance.
We recommend around 10-15% of the charter fee as gratuity for the crew. It's thoughtful to prepare a thank-you card or envelope to make the process easier.
We'll provide you with the Captain's contact details well ahead of your charter. We can also create a group chat with you and the Captain to go over any plans and preferences before you board.
