Koyunbaba Boat Manufacturing built CARPE DIEM 5 in Bodrum in 2012, using epoxy-laminated mahogany and teak in the traditional Turkish manner. At 47 metres, she is one of the larger gulets on the charter market, rigged as a ketch and sailed when the wind cooperates. She was refitted in 2022 and carries 12 guests across six en-suite cabins with a crew of seven.

The two master suites sit at opposite ends of the yacht, both full-beam. The forward master has a king bed, walk-in wardrobe, marble bathroom, and its own private sauna, accessible directly from the cabin. The aft master is the more distinctive of the two: a king bed, mirrored wardrobes, and an en-suite enclosed by a custom curved stained glass wall, handmade in Bodrum. Two double cabins and two twins complete the lower deck. Every cabin is finished in the same mahogany panelling, with parquet floors, inlay detailing, individually controlled air conditioning, and walk-in showers in marble.

The raised salon has large windows on three sides, an L-shaped sofa, a formal dining table, and a full entertainment system. On deck, the aft dining table seats twelve under a Bimini shade, and the curved stern opens into a wide sunpad for afternoon reading. Forward, the foredeck has its own seating area with cushioned benches and sunbeds that convert into open-air sleeping platforms for stargazing.

Two kayaks, two paddleboards, a water ski, wakeboard, towable ringo, banana ride, windsurfer, snorkelling gear, and fishing equipment are included. A Zodiac tender with 115HP outboard handles shore transfers and tow sports. Jet ski available as an optional extra. On-board barbecue for evenings at anchor.

She cruises at 10 knots on twin Iveco Cursor 600HP diesels, covering the Lycian coast, the Gulf of Göcek, Fethiye, and across to the Dodecanese islands from her Turkish base. A private sauna in the master cabin, a handmade stained glass bathroom, and a stargazing deck on the foredeck. Forty-seven metres of Bodrum craftsmanship.

Key details to help you prepare for your charter experience.

An APA (Advanced Provisioning Allowance) is a pre-paid amount given to the yacht to cover costs like food & drinks on board, fuel, and mooring fees. At the end of your charter, we'll provide you with an itemized breakdown of the expenses, and any unused funds will be refunded to you.

Your Captain will keep you updated if you're close to exceeding your budget. If necessary, they'll discuss how to proceed, which usually involves a simple bank transfer to replenish the allowance.

We recommend around 10-15% of the charter fee as gratuity for the crew. It's thoughtful to prepare a thank-you card or envelope to make the process easier.

We'll provide you with the Captain's contact details well ahead of your charter. We can also create a group chat with you and the Captain to go over any plans and preferences before you board.

We follow MYBA and CYBA contract standards, these internationally recognized agreements offer clarity and security throughout your charter experience.

If you're ever uncertain about what's included or have any questions, feel free to ask your broker at Frontier Yachting. We're here to ensure your charter experience is perfect.
