UTOPIA

About UTOPIA
Kos Marina is home port for UTOPIA, which puts the Dodecanese right on her doorstep, from the volcanic caldera of Nisyros in the south to Leros, Lipsi and Patmos further north. She is a Lagoon 55 sailing catamaran launched in 2024, with naval architecture by VPLP, exterior lines by Patrick le Quément and interiors by Nauta Design.
Life on board is spread across three outdoor areas. The flybridge carries the helm, a table and lounge seating with views over the anchorage, so the captain and guests share the same deck when she is under way. The aft cockpit has a second table for long lunches in the shade, while a U-shaped lounge on the foredeck gives guests a quieter spot forward of the saloon.
Inside, the light-filled saloon opens onto the cockpit. Eight guests sleep in four queen cabins, each with its own en-suite bathroom. Full air conditioning, a generator and a watermaker keep her comfortable through a week of nights at anchor in the island coves.
Captain Takis Karapanos runs the boat with a hostess and cook plus a deckhand. Two Seabobs and two sea scooters cover the underwater side, with snorkelling gear for the bays and fishing gear for the evenings. Paddleboards, a wakeboard, adult water skis and towable donuts handle the rest of the programme. The tender tows the riders.
UTOPIA can also start her charters from Mykonos or Athens on request.

Good to Know
Key details to help you prepare for your charter experience.
An APA (Advanced Provisioning Allowance) is a pre-paid amount given to the yacht to cover costs like food & drinks on board, fuel, and mooring fees. At the end of your charter, we'll provide you with an itemized breakdown of the expenses, and any unused funds will be refunded to you.
Your Captain will keep you updated if you're close to exceeding your budget. If necessary, they'll discuss how to proceed, which usually involves a simple bank transfer to replenish the allowance.
We recommend around 10-15% of the charter fee as gratuity for the crew. It's thoughtful to prepare a thank-you card or envelope to make the process easier.
We'll provide you with the Captain's contact details well ahead of your charter. We can also create a group chat with you and the Captain to go over any plans and preferences before you board.
We follow MYBA and CYBA contract standards, these internationally recognized agreements offer clarity and security throughout your charter experience.
If you're ever uncertain about what's included or have any questions, feel free to ask your broker at Frontier Yachting. We're here to ensure your charter experience is perfect.
