MAVERICK

The BVI is dive country, and MAVERICK's captain holds RYA Yachtmaster Ocean and PADI Dive Master credentials. Tyrone LaRue runs the boat year-round out of Village Cay, Tortola, with no seasonal repositioning between the islands. She is a Sunreef 70 sailing catamaran, built in 2013 and refitted in 2019, working the British Virgin Islands as her permanent cruising ground.
Nine guests sleep across four cabins: three king-bed VIP doubles spread between the hulls and a twin cabin with an additional Pullman bunk for a young guest. Each cabin has its own en-suite. The salon runs the full beam with panoramic glazing, and the flybridge dining area converts to a sun lounge for afternoon use.
The water programme is built for the BVI's protected anchorages and reef snorkelling. A 4.45-metre Williams jet tender with a 110hp engine launches two Seabobs, a Lyft eFoil, two paddleboards, two two-person kayaks, a windsurfer, and a sailing dinghy. Wakeboards, water skis, a knee board, and a four-person towable round out the towed-sports kit, with snorkel and fishing gear for the day-to-day.
Crew of three lives aboard year-round: Captain LaRue, chef Cris Flores with two decades in kitchens across Latin, Southern American, Mediterranean, and Caribbean cuisines, and a steward who handles service and dive support. The boat starts and ends every charter inside the BVI cruising grounds.

Key details to help you prepare for your charter experience.
An APA (Advanced Provisioning Allowance) is a pre-paid amount given to the yacht to cover costs like food & drinks on board, fuel, and mooring fees. At the end of your charter, we'll provide you with an itemized breakdown of the expenses, and any unused funds will be refunded to you.
Your Captain will keep you updated if you're close to exceeding your budget. If necessary, they'll discuss how to proceed, which usually involves a simple bank transfer to replenish the allowance.
We recommend around 10-15% of the charter fee as gratuity for the crew. It's thoughtful to prepare a thank-you card or envelope to make the process easier.
We'll provide you with the Captain's contact details well ahead of your charter. We can also create a group chat with you and the Captain to go over any plans and preferences before you board.
We follow MYBA and CYBA contract standards, these internationally recognized agreements offer clarity and security throughout your charter experience.
If you're ever uncertain about what's included or have any questions, feel free to ask your broker at Frontier Yachting. We're here to ensure your charter experience is perfect.
