The VanDutch 55 is a Frank Mulder hull in a 16-metre open sport yacht, built in the Netherlands in 2018. Mulder designs superyacht tenders and fast patrol boats; his work on the VanDutch line produced the signature vertical bow, a planing hull that tracks cleanly at speed, and deck lines stripped to almost nothing. The model took "Best Design" at the 2013 World Yacht Trophies in Cannes, and the shape still looks current.
Twin 900HP Volvo diesels push her past 37 knots. At that pace, Biscayne Bay to the Bahamas is a morning run. The 1.10-metre draft opens up the shallows and sandbars that line the Miami coastline, from the flats off Stiltsville south through the sandbanks around Key Biscayne.
Below deck, two cabins handle overnight stays: an owner's suite with a queen berth forward and a guest cabin aft. The layout is honest about what this yacht is, a day boat with overnight capability, and the open deck reflects it. Foredeck sun pads, cockpit dining under an electric bimini, a hydraulic swim platform at the waterline, and a full deck shower round out what is essentially an open-air living space.
55 VAN DUTCH is based year-round at Miami Beach Marina. She charters for two guests with tube and snorkel gear on board.
She carries the same naval architect's signature found on some of the fastest superyacht tenders afloat, and her berth at Miami Beach Marina sits five minutes from South Beach.

Good to Know
Key details to help you prepare for your charter experience.
An APA (Advanced Provisioning Allowance) is a pre-paid amount given to the yacht to cover costs like food & drinks on board, fuel, and mooring fees. At the end of your charter, we'll provide you with an itemized breakdown of the expenses, and any unused funds will be refunded to you.
Your Captain will keep you updated if you're close to exceeding your budget. If necessary, they'll discuss how to proceed, which usually involves a simple bank transfer to replenish the allowance.
We recommend around 10-15% of the charter fee as gratuity for the crew. It's thoughtful to prepare a thank-you card or envelope to make the process easier.
We'll provide you with the Captain's contact details well ahead of your charter. We can also create a group chat with you and the Captain to go over any plans and preferences before you board.
We follow MYBA and CYBA contract standards, these internationally recognized agreements offer clarity and security throughout your charter experience.
If you're ever uncertain about what's included or have any questions, feel free to ask your broker at Frontier Yachting. We're here to ensure your charter experience is perfect.
