SPIRIT OF PONANT
Ponant, the French expedition cruise line, launched a private yacht charter arm in 2024. SPIRIT OF PONANT is its Seychelles flagship: a Lagoon Seventy 7 sailing catamaran carrying 12 guests across six en-suite cabins (four doubles, two twins) with a crew of four.
Twenty-three metres of sailing cat with a serious toy locker. A Tiwal inflatable sailing dinghy, two wing foil packs, jet ski, Seabob, wakeboarding and water skiing for adults and kids, towable buoy, floating pontoon, and a full set of snorkelling kits. The 5-metre tender sits on a hydraulic platform alongside a hydraulic gangway, so boarding from a beach or dock is seamless.
Below deck, a wine cellar carries a selection shaped by Ponant's cruise heritage, stocked and rotated by the four crew who also handle provisioning and itinerary planning across Praslin, La Digue, and the outer islands.
She sails the Seychelles year-round with no seasonal repositioning, working the inner and outer granite islands on itineraries built around the prevailing southeast trades and the crew's local knowledge. If the Indian Ocean is the destination and 12 is the number, this is the boat with a cruise line's pedigree on a catamaran's draught.

An APA (Advanced Provisioning Allowance) is a pre-paid amount given to the yacht to cover costs like food & drinks on board, fuel, and mooring fees. At the end of your charter, we'll provide you with an itemized breakdown of the expenses, and any unused funds will be refunded to you.
Your Captain will keep you updated if you're close to exceeding your budget. If necessary, they'll discuss how to proceed, which usually involves a simple bank transfer to replenish the allowance.
We recommend around 10-15% of the charter fee as gratuity for the crew. It's thoughtful to prepare a thank-you card or envelope to make the process easier.
We'll provide you with the Captain's contact details well ahead of your charter. We can also create a group chat with you and the Captain to go over any plans and preferences before you board.
