DB9

Thirty knots on a 52-metre yacht. DB9 is a Palmer Johnson PJ 170, the only hull in the series built with an open sundeck, delivered in 2010 and refitted in 2025. Nuvolari and Lenard drew the lines. The metallic grey aluminium hull is unmistakable: semi-displacement, aggressive stance, and the kind of wake that makes harbour masters nervous.

Twelve guests in five cabins: a full-beam owner's stateroom on the main deck, two queen VIP cabins, and two twins, all en-suite. The interiors are contemporary and dark-toned, designed to contrast with the light pouring through the hull windows.

Three separate water features: an 8-metre pool on the foredeck, an infinity jacuzzi on the aft deck, and a second jacuzzi on the flybridge. The open sundeck doubles as an outdoor cinema after dark. A 6.4-metre Castoldi jet tender, two jet skis, two Seabobs, a Lift e-foil, wakeboard, waterskis, kneeboard, inflatable kayak, and towable tubes. A crew of eleven runs the programme.

She cruises at 22 knots and tops out at 30, with a 3,400-nautical-mile range at 13 knots. Summer base is San Remo.

Most 52-metre yachts cruise at 12 knots and look like every other white boat in the marina. DB9 does 30 and looks like nothing else afloat.
