KIND OF BLUE

Summer: Sardinia
1 / 8

Miles Davis recorded Kind of Blue in 1959, and the album lent its name to this Hanse 575. She was built in 2019 on a design concept the owner started in 2014, refit in 2023, and based in Porto Rotondo for the Costa Smeralda season.

The Hanse 575 is a sixty-foot performance cruiser drawn for short-handed sailing, and KIND OF BLUE leans into that brief. North Sails 3Di sails drive a beam of 5.5 metres to an average of ten knots, with peaks of twelve to thirteen in the right breeze. A skipper and host crew the boat for charter.

Three double cabins below sleep six guests, all with private heads. The interior reads as a contemporary owner's boat: a single open salon, a chart table, and the bright Hanse styling that the yard does well. Ice maker and deck shower are on board.

From Porto Rotondo the natural cruising line runs through the Maddalena archipelago, north to Bonifacio and the south coast of Corsica, and south along Costa Smeralda to Olbia and Tavolara. Sardinian summer weather suits a sailing programme. She winters at the shipyard.

She is a sailing boat first, with the rig and the sails to take a charter group around the Bocche di Bonifacio under canvas and the cabins below to carry them comfortably for a week.

Key details to help you prepare for your charter experience.

An APA (Advanced Provisioning Allowance) is a pre-paid amount given to the yacht to cover costs like food & drinks on board, fuel, and mooring fees. At the end of your charter, we'll provide you with an itemized breakdown of the expenses, and any unused funds will be refunded to you.

Your Captain will keep you updated if you're close to exceeding your budget. If necessary, they'll discuss how to proceed, which usually involves a simple bank transfer to replenish the allowance.

We recommend around 10-15% of the charter fee as gratuity for the crew. It's thoughtful to prepare a thank-you card or envelope to make the process easier.

We'll provide you with the Captain's contact details well ahead of your charter. We can also create a group chat with you and the Captain to go over any plans and preferences before you board.

We follow MYBA and CYBA contract standards, these internationally recognized agreements offer clarity and security throughout your charter experience.

If you're ever uncertain about what's included or have any questions, feel free to ask your broker at Frontier Yachting. We're here to ensure your charter experience is perfect.
