SENSATION

Twin Caterpillar engines pushing 6,000hp combined give SENSATION a 15-knot cruising speed and a 22-knot top end, with 4,500 nautical miles of range for the kind of repositioning that most charter yachts leave to transport ships. She is a 50-metre aluminium superyacht built in Auckland by Sensation Yachts in 2007 and refitted in 2014, now based in the eastern Mediterranean year-round.

Interior by Gelko Kaniza centres on the full-beam owner's stateroom on the main deck: king bed to port, dressing room to starboard, and a his-and-hers bathroom with a freestanding central bath. Four additional cabins on the lower deck sleep ten guests total in a mix of doubles and twins, all en-suite. The Vista lounge on the upper deck has a grand piano and a bar, which tells you what era of yachting produced her.

A crew of nine lives in separate quarters, giving guests genuine privacy across the three guest decks. Two Sea-Doo jet skis, a Yanmar 120hp tender, three sets of water skis, two kayaks, and a towable round out the water sports inventory. Her 2.1-metre draft opens up shallower anchorages along the Turkish and Greek coastlines.

She cruises Greece, Turkey, and further east on request, with the range and speed to reposition comfortably between seasons. A New Zealand-built aluminium hull with a grand piano in the Vista lounge and 4,500 miles of range underfoot.
