GIGRECA

Admiral builds motor yachts of 40 metres and up. When they turned that insulation engineering on a 76-foot sailing yacht, the result was the Silent 76: whisper quiet under power, even at full speed. GIGRECA is hull number one, launched in 2014, refitted in 2021, and now based in Athens for Cyclades charters.
Jacques Fauroux drew the hull. North Sails supplied a fully battened main and self-tacking jib on a carbon in-furling boom, hung from an aluminium Maxspar mast. The rig handles easily with a crew of three, and the retractable aluminium-and-glass hardtop (by Debenedetti and Fiordi) keeps the cockpit shaded while sailing and opens up at anchor.
Four en-suite cabins sleep eight. The master suite sits aft with its own private access, a VIP double forward of the salon, and two further cabins (a double and a twin) with marble-clad bathrooms. The 2021 refit freshened the interiors throughout.
Captain Andreas Voulgaris holds an RYA Yachtmaster Ocean certificate, has sailed the Mediterranean since 2000, and knows the Cyclades by island: Mykonos, Paros, Syros, Santorini, and the passages between them. Toys stay simple: a SeaBob, paddleboard, water skis, snorkel gear, and fishing equipment.
GIGRECA carries the noise insulation of an Admiral motor yacht inside a Fauroux-designed sloop, and she sails out of Athens year-round under Greek flag.

Key details to help you prepare for your charter experience.
An APA (Advanced Provisioning Allowance) is a pre-paid amount given to the yacht to cover costs like food & drinks on board, fuel, and mooring fees. At the end of your charter, we'll provide you with an itemized breakdown of the expenses, and any unused funds will be refunded to you.
Your Captain will keep you updated if you're close to exceeding your budget. If necessary, they'll discuss how to proceed, which usually involves a simple bank transfer to replenish the allowance.
We recommend around 10-15% of the charter fee as gratuity for the crew. It's thoughtful to prepare a thank-you card or envelope to make the process easier.
We'll provide you with the Captain's contact details well ahead of your charter. We can also create a group chat with you and the Captain to go over any plans and preferences before you board.
We follow MYBA and CYBA contract standards, these internationally recognized agreements offer clarity and security throughout your charter experience.
If you're ever uncertain about what's included or have any questions, feel free to ask your broker at Frontier Yachting. We're here to ensure your charter experience is perfect.
