ANDROMEDA

Newport, Rhode Island is one of the few places on the US East Coast where a crewed catamaran charter makes genuine sense: sheltered harbours, short hops between anchorages, and some of the best sailing water in New England. ANDROMEDA is a Lagoon 620 based here through the summer months, then repositions to the Bahamas and Caribbean for winter.
Built in 2016 by Lagoon and refitted in 2022, she carries the VPLP hull design that runs through Lagoon's upper range. At 18 metres with 10 metres of beam, the living space is generous for eight guests across four en-suite cabins, each with climate control and its own TV.
The crew of two rotates seasonally: in the Caribbean, Captain Julianna Rodriguez (500-ton USCG, 10+ years, with a background in Coastal Marine Biology) runs the boat and tailors itineraries around the best snorkeling and marine habitats. Twelve sets of snorkel gear are on board, which says something about what the charter programme prioritises.
SUP, tube, fishing gear, and a floating lounge round out the toys. The dinghy runs a 70HP outboard for shore access and reef transfers. BBQ, ice maker, water maker, and Wi-Fi cover the onboard essentials.
Two seasons, two coastlines: Block Island and Nantucket in July, the Exumas in January, on the same hull with the same standard of service.

Key details to help you prepare for your charter experience.
An APA (Advanced Provisioning Allowance) is a pre-paid amount given to the yacht to cover costs like food & drinks on board, fuel, and mooring fees. At the end of your charter, we'll provide you with an itemized breakdown of the expenses, and any unused funds will be refunded to you.
Your Captain will keep you updated if you're close to exceeding your budget. If necessary, they'll discuss how to proceed, which usually involves a simple bank transfer to replenish the allowance.
We recommend around 10-15% of the charter fee as gratuity for the crew. It's thoughtful to prepare a thank-you card or envelope to make the process easier.
We'll provide you with the Captain's contact details well ahead of your charter. We can also create a group chat with you and the Captain to go over any plans and preferences before you board.
We follow MYBA and CYBA contract standards, these internationally recognized agreements offer clarity and security throughout your charter experience.
If you're ever uncertain about what's included or have any questions, feel free to ask your broker at Frontier Yachting. We're here to ensure your charter experience is perfect.
