ASTERIA

Summer: Indonesia
1 / 24

ASTERIA started life in 1970 as a deep-sea salvage tug, built by Anastassiades & Tsortanides in Perama, Greece. She spent three decades pulling stricken vessels out of storms across the Atlantic, the Pacific, and both polar regions. The conversion to an expedition yacht was completed in 2002 by Stabbert Maritime and Northport Engineering. Pieter Beeldsnijder designed the exterior. In 2019, French architect Charles Zana reimagined the interiors.

Twelve guests in six staterooms plus a children's cabin: an owner's suite, four doubles, and one twin. Crew of twelve. EYOS Expeditions supplies expedition leaders and naturalist guides for polar and remote itineraries.

Two Sea-Doo Wake Sport jet skis, two Picos sailing dinghies, two kayaks, two paddleboards, three wakeboards, water skis, a windsurfer, eight complete scuba sets with two Nitrox dive compressors (rendezvous diving only), four cold-water dive sets, three kite surf rigs, towables, and big game fishing gear. An 8.5-metre enclosed Northwind Extreme RIB (capacity 12), a 6.5-metre jet-driven Tino tender, and two Zodiac MK4 Mil Pro inflatables. Touch-and-go helipad.

Ice-strengthened steel hull with Quantum zero-speed stabilisers. She cruises at 10 knots with a range of 6,000 nautical miles at 13 knots.

Two Voyager Awards from the World Superyacht Awards: the first in 2022 for a Central America to Alaska expedition, the second in 2025 for an Arctic-to-Antarctic odyssey. She has transited the Northwest Passage and weathered 99-knot gales off Elephant Island.

Key details to help you prepare for your charter experience.

An APA (Advanced Provisioning Allowance) is a pre-paid amount given to the yacht to cover costs like food & drinks on board, fuel, and mooring fees. At the end of your charter, we'll provide you with an itemized breakdown of the expenses, and any unused funds will be refunded to you.

Your Captain will keep you updated if you're close to exceeding your budget. If necessary, they'll discuss how to proceed, which usually involves a simple bank transfer to replenish the allowance.

We recommend around 10-15% of the charter fee as gratuity for the crew. It's thoughtful to prepare a thank-you card or envelope to make the process easier.

We'll provide you with the Captain's contact details well ahead of your charter. We can also create a group chat with you and the Captain to go over any plans and preferences before you board.

We follow MYBA and CYBA contract standards, these internationally recognized agreements offer clarity and security throughout your charter experience.

If you're ever uncertain about what's included or have any questions, feel free to ask your broker at Frontier Yachting. We're here to ensure your charter experience is perfect.
