THE WANDERING HILLBILLY

The Wandering Hillbilly is an Aquila 54 power catamaran, delivered in 2026 and set up for the British Virgin Islands. She carries eight guests across four en-suite cabins with a crew of two, on a power cat that gives the interior space of a much larger monohull.
The signature of the Aquila 54 is the enclosed sky lounge on the upper deck, a glass-walled room with a full circle of views that opens up to the breeze. An interior staircase connects it to the main saloon below. The panoramic salon runs into the cockpit through oversized sliding doors, so the whole main level works as one open space. Four cabins, each with its own bathroom, spread the accommodation across both hulls and keep the boat quiet and steady at anchor.
The water sports kit is built for easy days at anchor: a paddleboard and a one-person kayak for the shoreline, floating mats for the swim platform, and snorkel gear for the reefs. A drop-down swim platform and boarding ladder make getting in and out of the water simple. The dinghy runs guests ashore to the beach bars and the quiet cuts that give the BVI their name.

Good to Know
Key details to help you prepare for your charter experience.
An APA (Advanced Provisioning Allowance) is a pre-paid amount given to the yacht to cover costs like food & drinks on board, fuel, and mooring fees. At the end of your charter, we'll provide you with an itemized breakdown of the expenses, and any unused funds will be refunded to you.
Your Captain will keep you updated if you're close to exceeding your budget. If necessary, they'll discuss how to proceed, which usually involves a simple bank transfer to replenish the allowance.
We recommend around 10-15% of the charter fee as gratuity for the crew. It's thoughtful to prepare a thank-you card or envelope to make the process easier.
We'll provide you with the Captain's contact details well ahead of your charter. We can also create a group chat with you and the Captain to go over any plans and preferences before you board.
We follow MYBA and CYBA contract standards, these internationally recognized agreements offer clarity and security throughout your charter experience.
If you're ever uncertain about what's included or have any questions, feel free to ask your broker at Frontier Yachting. We're here to ensure your charter experience is perfect.
