WHISPER

Winter: Caribbean
1 / 30

Holland Jachtbouw launched WHISPER in Amsterdam in 2003, and she won the ShowBoats Award for Best Sailing Yacht Under 40 Metres the following year. Ted Hood drew the hull (an aluminium delta form with a deep centreboard), and Winch Design handled the interiors. She was refitted in 2014.

The sloop rig drives a 35-metre hull with an 8.3-metre beam and Holland Jachtbouw's first retractable rudder-within-a-rudder, a system designed for shoal-draft cruising in shallow bays while retaining serious offshore performance. Twin Lugger diesels give her 10 knots under power.

Six guests in three cabins: a master, a double, and a twin. Winch Design's interiors run warm timber and natural light throughout, with the same build quality below deck as Holland Jachtbouw put into the hull above it.

On the water: wakeboard, water skis (adult and children's), kneeboard, tube, kayak, floating mats, snorkelling gear, and fishing equipment. A barbecue on deck and a bimini for shade round out the sailing lifestyle.

WHISPER winters in St Maarten and summers in New England, with a crew of five. The Caribbean Leewards and Windwards in season, then north when the weather turns.

Key details to help you prepare for your charter experience.

An APA (Advanced Provisioning Allowance) is a pre-paid amount given to the yacht to cover costs like food & drinks on board, fuel, and mooring fees. At the end of your charter, we'll provide you with an itemized breakdown of the expenses, and any unused funds will be refunded to you.

Your Captain will keep you updated if you're close to exceeding your budget. If necessary, they'll discuss how to proceed, which usually involves a simple bank transfer to replenish the allowance.

We recommend around 10-15% of the charter fee as gratuity for the crew. It's thoughtful to prepare a thank-you card or envelope to make the process easier.

We'll provide you with the Captain's contact details well ahead of your charter. We can also create a group chat with you and the Captain to go over any plans and preferences before you board.

We follow MYBA and CYBA contract standards, these internationally recognized agreements offer clarity and security throughout your charter experience.

If you're ever uncertain about what's included or have any questions, feel free to ask your broker at Frontier Yachting. We're here to ensure your charter experience is perfect.
