About ATLANTIC

In 1905, the original ATLANTIC set a transatlantic sailing record from New York to The Lizard that stood for nearly a century. This is her recreation: a 64.5-metre three-masted gaff schooner built by Van der Graaf in the Netherlands in 2010, with Doug Peterson adapting William Gardner's 1903 lines for a modern steel hull and Dacron sails. Owner Ed Kastelein (of the Holland America Line family) reconstructed the colonial-style interiors from period photographs. She won a World Superyacht Award in 2011.

Twelve guests in six en-suite cabins: a full-beam master with bathtub, two doubles, one twin, and two bunk cabins. Crew of 12. The interior is all carved teak and period detailing, which sounds heavy but plays against the 1,700 square metres of sail area and 45-metre masts towering above.

She carries a 12ft classic sailing dinghy, an e-foil, wakeboard, water skis, kneeboard, dive gear, snorkel sets, yoga mats, and bicycles. The 6.5m Sillinger RIB handles shore runs. At 10 knots cruising, she moves at sailing pace; which is the point.

Summers in the western Med (Riviera, Corsica, Sardinia, Sicily, Greece). Winters in the Caribbean out of Antigua. Refitted in 2025.

There's one ATLANTIC. If you want to sail a piece of yachting history under 1,700 square metres of canvas, she's it.

Key details to help you prepare for your charter experience.

An APA (Advanced Provisioning Allowance) is a pre-paid amount given to the yacht to cover costs like food & drinks on board, fuel, and mooring fees. At the end of your charter, we'll provide you with an itemized breakdown of the expenses, and any unused funds will be refunded to you.

Your Captain will keep you updated if you're close to exceeding your budget. If necessary, they'll discuss how to proceed, which usually involves a simple bank transfer to replenish the allowance.

We recommend around 10-15% of the charter fee as gratuity for the crew. It's thoughtful to prepare a thank-you card or envelope to make the process easier.

We'll provide you with the Captain's contact details well ahead of your charter. We can also create a group chat with you and the Captain to go over any plans and preferences before you board.

We follow MYBA and CYBA contract standards, these internationally recognized agreements offer clarity and security throughout your charter experience.

If you're ever uncertain about what's included or have any questions, feel free to ask your broker at Frontier Yachting. We're here to ensure your charter experience is perfect.
