IKIGAI

Summer: Balearic IslandsWinter: Caribbean
1 / 26

Carbon mast, hydraulic furling boom, and a sail wardrobe that includes a main, genoa, two gennakers, Code 0, storm jib, and staysail. IKIGAI is a 25-metre sloop designed by Judel/Vrolijk, built by JFA in 2002, and comprehensively refitted at Vitters shipyard in the Netherlands (most recently in 2024, with over €2.3 million invested). She races and she charters; the aluminium hull handles both.

Three cabins sleep eight guests. The master forward has a king bed; two guest cabins each run twin singles with pullman berths, converting easily for families or couples. Crew of two lives aft. The interior by de Vries Vos is clean and modern, built around the aluminium structure without hiding it.

Toys include a Seabob, snorkel gear, and fishing equipment. The tender stows in a transom garage. She cruises at 12 knots and sails considerably faster in the right conditions; this is a boat you actually want to sail rather than motor everywhere.

Summer base is Palma, covering the Balearics. Winters she crosses to the Caribbean. A genuine performance yacht that charters as comfortably as she races.

Key details to help you prepare for your charter experience.

An APA (Advanced Provisioning Allowance) is a pre-paid amount given to the yacht to cover costs like food & drinks on board, fuel, and mooring fees. At the end of your charter, we'll provide you with an itemized breakdown of the expenses, and any unused funds will be refunded to you.

Your Captain will keep you updated if you're close to exceeding your budget. If necessary, they'll discuss how to proceed, which usually involves a simple bank transfer to replenish the allowance.

We recommend around 10-15% of the charter fee as gratuity for the crew. It's thoughtful to prepare a thank-you card or envelope to make the process easier.

We'll provide you with the Captain's contact details well ahead of your charter. We can also create a group chat with you and the Captain to go over any plans and preferences before you board.

We follow MYBA and CYBA contract standards, these internationally recognized agreements offer clarity and security throughout your charter experience.

If you're ever uncertain about what's included or have any questions, feel free to ask your broker at Frontier Yachting. We're here to ensure your charter experience is perfect.
